GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Breakfast and After School Club - Puffins

Welcome to Puffins, Marden Lodges’ Breakfast and After School Club. Puffins

Puffins is run by the school and therefore the children have the consistency in terms of staff, values and behaviour expectations we take children from all year groups.

Opening Times

We are open every day during term time (closed on INSET days)

Breakfast Club 7.30 - 8:40am

After School club 3:15 – 6pm

Breakfast Club

During breakfast club, we provide a light breakfast including toast, a choice of cereals, fruit juices and milk. The food is laid out and we actively encourage the children to help themselves to develop their independence. At the end of the session the children are escorted to their classrooms where they are signed over to their class teacher.

After School Club

At the end of the school day the children are collected from their classes and signed over into our care. During the session the children can access puzzles, games, construction, role play and art and craft activities. There is an outside area which is used as much as possible, weather permitting. During all activities the children are encouraged to work co-operatively and collaboratively which is in line with our school values. A light tea is provided, such as beans on toast, wraps or filled rolls. Special dietary requirements can be catered for.

Registration

If you would like a place at Puffins, you will need to fill in a registration form which can be obtained from the school office. All information relating to fees can be found in the document at the foot of this page.

Staff

The staff at the club also work in the school in various roles, therefore the relationship between them and the children is very good and offers the children consistency. The club supervisor is a DSL, is paediatric first aid trained and has NNEB. Our play workers have all the relevant yearly training that is required
