School Values - The Six Pillars of Character
What is 'character'?
A person of character….
- is a good person, someone to look up to and admire
- knows the difference between right and wrong and tries to do what is right
- sets a good example for everyone
- makes the world a better place.
At Marden Lodge we follow The Six Pillars of Character, a framework for teaching good character which is composed of six ethical values (characteristics):
- Trustworthiness
- Respect
- Responsibility
- Fairness
- Caring
- Citizenship.
Each of the six character traits are used to help instill a positive learning environment for the children and staff and a “culture of kindness” making Marden Lodge a safe environment for ALL to learn.
Our behaviour policy and procedures are based on our School Values. Children earn Dojo points for demonstrating these values and Star of the Week is also based on our School Values
